Project Description
Sunnyvale, California, USA
Google's first ground up design-build facility incorporates various innovations in commercial office space. The floor to ceiling and clerestory windows provide natural light to nearly the entire interior environment. Exterior venetian blinds and clerestory roller shades ensure that glare and heat gain are minimized contributing to the building's LEED Platinum certification. Advanced modeling optimizes the predictive solar tracking performance of the shading control system by accounting for shadows cast by building overhangs, structural elements, and false horizons while also eliminating reflected glare from neighboring buildings.
