Project Description
Oberlin, OH, USA
Sustainability was key in the development of The Hotel at Oberlin - Tappan Square. The LEED Platinum certified hotel is one of only a few new hotels in North America to meet this standard. A key element to this achievement is the Solarai controlled exterior venetian blinds that run nearly the full height of the facade. The fully automated system is an integral component of a highly effective thermal envelope that features predictive solar tracking to minimize solar heat gain. It also reduces energy consumption from artificial lighting by filtering soft natural light to the interior space.
