Lidl - Fredericksburg

Project Description
Fredericksburg, VA, USA

Lidl's facility in Fredericksburg, VA was the first major distribution center constructed as part of the German company's expansion into North America.  Exterior venetian blinds were used for daylighting control not only throughout the administrative offices, but also throughout the warehouse where clerestory windows lined the expansive facade above loading bays.  High levels of soft natural light filled the interior space while Solarai's predictive solar tracking ensured no direct sunlight was allow to enter the space.  The automated system contributed to a reduction in energy consumption for the project.
