Project Description
Calgary International Airport features Solarai control products throughout both the domestic and international terminals. As the airport has expanded over the years, the Calgary Airport Authority has repeatedly turned to Embedia for their shading control solutions. From the first units installed in 2005 to the most recent ongoing additions and updates, multiple generations of Embedia control products have been utilized to support the airport's expansion. The airport now has more than 600 Embedia controllers operating well over 1000 motorized shades... all seamlessly integrated into a single easily managed system!
Various types of roller shades are used throughout both terminal while the design of the new international terminal expansion also included exterior venetian blinds. Regardless of the controller or shade type, a single Solarai Control Panel software interface with custom floor plan views provides facility staff with status at a glance as well as the ability to create schedules and manually override the system for operations and maintenance purposes. The HTML5 GUI interface allows staff to manage the entire system while mobile within the terminal using any browser enabled device whether it is a smart phone, tablet, or laptop computer. Predictive solar tracking and glare control regions features automatically maximize natural daylight, both on the curbside and within the terminals, while at the same time blocking uncomfortable glare.
